Reporting to the head of engineering, the role will involve working with test rigs to ensure that the correct electronic controllers are selected.

Skills and experience required:

Instrumentation knowledge
Knowledge of sensors
Calibration
Test rig experience
Automotive / Aerospace / Process engineering experience

It is highly desirable for candidates to have an Instrumentation or Electronics academic background to HND / Degree level.

Sub: Filling up the post of Project Assistants for externally funded

time bound projects - regarding.
Centre for Wind Energy Technology [C-WET] is an Autonomous Research and Development Organization set up by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy [MNRE], at Chennai to serve as a technical focal point in the area of Wind Energy and is the only one of its kind in the entire Country.
2. C-WET needs Project Assistants for its S&C, Testing & WRA Units as per Annexure – A purely on temporary basis. Their engagement will be initially for a period of one year, extendable further depending upon the performance and need. In any case, such engagement will be co-terminus with the completion of the project activity and in no case will exceed beyond 5 years. The Project Assistants will not be permitted to pursue higher education during their first two years of tenure at C-WET.
3. The Selection process shall include an aptitude test and interview. The number of Project Assistants to be selected may vary based on actual requirement.
4. Those who apply for the position are required to attend the aptitude test. Mere possession of minimum prescribed qualification and experience will not entail a candidate for being called for aptitude test/ interview or both. The date of conducting aptitude test will be hosted in our official website in due course. Personal interview will be limited to such candidates who have been declared successful based on relative ranking in the aptitude test. The list of such candidates will be notified in our official website.
5. C-WET strives to have a work force which reflects gender balance and women candidates are encouraged to apply.
6. Interested candidates fulfilling the requirement may send their application in the prescribed format at Annexure –B along with hall ticket at Annexure - C. The candidates need not send any supporting document for age, qualification, experience etc., along with application. Supporting documents for age, qualification, experience and community will be verified only at the time of interview and if any discrepancy found during verification, C-WET reserves the right to reject their candidature.
7. The applications must reach General Manager (F&A), Centre for Wind Energy Technology, Velachery-Tambaram Main Road, Pallikaranai, Chennai-600 100 in an envelope superscribed as “Project Assistant” not later than 31.08.2012.
8. Age relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates will be as per Government of India Orders in vogue. The decision of the Centre about fulfillment of qualification etc. shall be final. Canvassing in any form would be a disqualification. The crucial date for determining age limit shall be the last date of receipt of application. No TA/DA would be admissible for attending the Aptitude Test / Interview.

The Minimum requirement for Project Assistant Level I shall be 50% & for Project Assistant Level II and above shall be 55% in the Qualifying Examination. In case of SC/ST Candidates, minimum percentage of marks shall be relaxed by 5% for qualifying Examination. Upper age limit will be relaxable by 5 [Five] years for SC/ST and by 3 [Three] years for OBC candidates. The payment of stipend will be subjected to statutory deduction as per rules.
All the position[s] requires extensive travel throughout the country. The candidates selected may be required to climb wind turbines and meteorological masts measuring about 80-100 meters height. Only such candidates who are earnest, willing, medically fit and capable to travel throughout the country and climb wind turbines need apply for the position.
