RailTel is a telecom infrastructure provider and has been set up primarily to modernize and augment the existing infrastructure for providing communication facilities for Railways and other
commercial users. 2. Number of vacancies :

Note: RailTel Corporation may change the number of vacancies at its discretion. The number of reserved vacancies may
be re-distributed depending on the instructions of the Government of India.
* The reservation for candidates belonging to minority community notified by the Government of India shall be provided
as per Government of India‟a instructions from time to time.
IMPORTANT NOTE: As the examination shall be held in one common session only for all the above-mentioned posts, the
candidates will be able to appear in examination only for one of the above posts. Therefore, the candidate may apply only
for any one of the posts out of the above.

3. Scale of pay & CTC (at the beginning of the scale):
i) E-1 level: 16400-40500 (IDA); Annual CTC at the beginning of the scale is Rs. 5.3 lakh to 6.00 lakh
(approx) depending upon the „Performance Related Pay‟ limited to 40% (max).
ii) E-2 level: 20600-46500 (IDA); Annual CTC at the beginning of the scale is Rs. 6.7 lakh to 7.60 lakh
(approx) depending upon „Performance Related Pay‟ limited to 40% (max).
CTC includes DA, entitlement of lease accommodation, medical allowance, employer‟s contribution to EPFO etc.
In addition, LTC will be permitted as per company‟s rules from time to time.
3.1 The appointment will be made at the minimum of scale of pay along with usual allowances as admissible to the
post.
4. Instructions for physically challenged candidates:
(i) Orthopedically Handicapped (OH) – A person having not less than 40% physical disability of such type with
which the independent mobility is not affected, is eligible to apply under OH Category. The candidates with the
following types of disabilities only shall be acceptable:
a) One leg affected (right or left):
a.1 Impaired reach
a.2 Weakness of grip
OR
b) One arm affected (right or left):
b.1 Impaired reach
b.2 Weakness of grip
(ii) Visually Handicapped (VH) – A person, having not less than 40% visual impairment only is eligible to apply under VH Category. The candidates with the following types of disabilities only shall be acceptable:
Partially Blind
(iii) Hearing Handicapped (HH) – A person, having loss of ninety decibels or more in the better ear in the
conversational range of frequencies, shall be eligible to apply under HH Category. The candidates with the
following types of disabilities only shall be acceptable:
Partially Deaf
(iv) A physically challenged candidate will be considered to be eligible for appointment only if he/she (after such physical examination as the appointing authority may prescribe) is found by the RailTel to satisfy the requirements of physical and medical standards for the concerned posts to be allocated to the physically challenged candidates.
(v) Reservation for Persons with Disabilities shall be on horizontal basis and the selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate SC/ST/OBC/UR category
(vi) A person who wants to avail the benefits of reservation under the above categories shall have to present at the time of interview their Original Disability Certificate issued by a Competent Authority in the format given in Annexure-I of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Department of Personnel & Training under
OM No. 336035/3/2004-Estt(Res) dated 29 Dec., 2005.
5. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: 
The applicant should possess the following qualification as on the closing
date of on-line registration:



Note 1: in case CGPA/GPA/grades are allotted by the university/institution, CGPA/GPA/Grade of 6 on a scale of 10 will be taken as 60%.
Note 2 : The applicants whose final result of requisite qualifications mentioned above has not been declared, may also register themselves indicating the average marks of the completed semesters/years of the requisite educational qualification cleared so far. However, such candidates should possess the requisite qualification by the date of their
interview. In case these candidates are not able to produce their final marksheet and final certificate/ provisional certificate on the date of their interview or they have not secured the minimum qualifying marks or they are not able to produce original copies of certificates regarding date of birth/qualification/caste/disability etc., they will NOT be allowed to appear in the interview and their candidature shall be treated as cancelled.
6. AGE LIMITS: The candidates must be between 21 - 28 years of age for all the posts on the date of closing of on-line registration. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC/PWD for filling of reserved posts shall be as under :
a) SC/ST: 5 years
b) OBC: 3 years
c) Person with disabilities (Gen): 10 years
d) Person with disabilities (SC/ST): 15 years
e) Person with disabilities (OBC): 13 years

6.1 Upper age limit is relaxable for applicants working in Government / PSUs to the extent of their length of regular service in government / PSU subject to a maximum of five years. The regularly appointed employees of RailTel Corporation are also covered under this clause.
6.2 Candidates should note that only the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate or an equivalent Certificate on the date of submission of application will be accepted by the RailTel Corporation.
No other document relating of date of birth like, horoscope, affidavits, birth extracts from records of local bodies, service records and the like will be accepted as proof of date of birth. The date of birth as recorded in Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate or an equivalent Certificate will be treated as final and once this date is entered in the records of the company, no subsequent change will be acceptable.
7. Probation: 
Two years from the date of joining RailTel. The period of probation shall be regulated as per Government of India‟s instructions issued from time to time.
8. Broad Job Descriptions:
(a) DM(Tech): Operation and maintenance of OFC, telecom/data network equipment and associated infrastructure;
execution of telecom & data network projects; planning, implementation and operation of last mile access network for
customers; Co-ordination with customers periodically for network performance matters.
(b) DM(Mktg): Development, management and sales of RailTel‟s product and services; Formulation, management and
execution of marketing programmes to encourage retention and renewal of customers; Management of marketing
activities and communication - most effective pricing and promotion options.
(c) Manager / DM(P&A) : Manpower planning, recruitment, confirmation, promotion & related activities; framing /
execution of policies relating to HRM and service matters; management of Training and Development function,
administration and office management activities.

10. Scheme of Selection:
(a) Selection process involves written test of two hours duration followed by interview of the shortlisted
candidates. The written test will comprise of 100 objective type questions with multiple choice answers,
out of which 60 questions shall be on professional subjects and 40 questions to judge general
awareness, quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning and General English.
b) The standard of questions on professional subject will be commensurate with the specified essential
professional qualification of the concerned post.
c) The examination will be conducted at Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad and Guwahati. Candidates
should exercise options of the test city in the on-line application form. No change of test city/test centre
will be permissible at a later date. RailTel, for administrative reasons, however, reserves the right to
direct the candidate to appear for written test at any test city other than the one chosen by the candidate.
d) Question papers shall be set in English and Hindi only.
11. HOW TO APPLY:
(i) Candidates are required to apply On-line through RAILTEL website in English only. No other means/mode of
submission of applications will be accepted under any circumstances. The on-line registration process
involves 2 steps for successful registration of the application.
(ii) Candidates should have a valid personal e-mail ID. It should be kept active during the currency of this
recruitment process. Registration number, password, admit card for written test and Interview call letter or any
other important communication will be sent on the same registered e-mail ID of candidate. The candidates are,
therefore, requested to check regularly their e-mail for any communication from RAILTEL. Under no
circumstances, the candidate should share/mention e-mail ID or password to/ or any other candidate / person.
Please note that the admit card for written test will not be sent by post.
(iii) Candidates should take utmost care to furnish the correct details while filling in on-line application. Any
mistake committed by the candidate shall be his/her sole responsibility. No corrections/modifications are
allowed once the online application is submitted.
iv) APPLICATION FEE & MODE OF REMITTANCE
a) The application fee for candidates belonging to UR and OBC categories is Rs 500/- and is non-refundable nor
can be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. For remittance of fee the candidate will need to
visit any branch of State Bank of India for depositing the fee through pre-printed challan which can be
printed by the candidates after they complete the Step-I of the registration process. Transaction charges of the
bank over and above the application fee shall be borne by the candidate.
b) No fee is required to be paid by SC/ ST applicants and Persons with disabilities (PWD).
c) The candidates should ensure the completion of Step 1 and Step 2 of the registration process and
depositing of examination fee in any branch of State Bank of India by the stipulated date and time
given in para 1 of this vacancy notice.
v) Before starting to fill up the on-line application, the candidates should keep at hand the following
details/document/ information:-
a) His/her academic qualifications, experiences etc, as per eligibility criteria.
b) His/her personal details.
c) His/her caste / tribe certificate (for SC / ST/ OBC candidate)
d) His/her Disability Certificate (only for Persons with disabilities (PWD) – serial number and date of issue of
certificate and name of issuing state.
e) His/her educational qualifications details with percentage of the marks obtained.
f) His/her scanned photo and signature.
g) Educational qualification details of the SCRIBE with percentage marks obtained by him and scanned photo and
signature of the SCRIBE (only in case of physically challenged candidates, if eligible for the assistance of the
SCRIBE as per terms and conditions contained in this vacancy notice and who wish to use the services of scribe).
STEP- I
a) Candidates are now ready to apply on-line by revisiting the RailTel website and going to the tab “Careers” on RailTel
Corporation‟s website (www.railtelindia.com).
b) The candidate should now fill up all the desired information in the on-line form about himself/herself and also about
scribe (in case of physically challenged candidates seeking assistance of scribe) correctly and register.
c) On registration, a message will be received in candidate‟s registered email id conveying his registration number,
password and a link for printing the bank challan. The candidate should take a print of the bank challan. This
completes the Step-I of on-line registration process.

d) The candidate should present the bank challan printed under Step-I to any branch of State Bank of India and deposit
the requisite examination fee and bank charges. The Bank will return to the candidate the two copies of bank challan
after accepting the examination fee as a token of receipt. These copies of challan will also contain a transaction /
journal number.
e) Candidates are advised to keep with them the copies of the bank challan as a token of remittance of fee for future
reference and the same shall have to be deposited / handed over at the time of Written Examination.
f) On successful registration of on-line application, candidates are advised not to attempt for registration for the same
post again since multiple registration numbers and passwords may create problem for candidates in future. In case of
multiple registrations for the same post, the candidature is liable for cancellation/rejection without any
notice/intimation to the candidate.
Note: As no examination fee has been prescribed for SC/ST/Physically challenged candidates, no bank challan will be
generated for such candidates. These candidates can straightway go to the Step-II of on-line registration.
STEP- II
a) After depositing the examination fee in State Bank of India, candidate should keep the following items ready for
completion of Step-II of registration:
i) Clear scanned copies of latest photograph and signature of self and that of scribe ( only in case of physically
challenged candidates, if eligible for assistance of scribe as per terms and conditions in this vacancy notice and who
wish to use the service of scribe). In case the face in the photograph or signature is unclear, the candidate‟s
registration may be rejected.
ii) Examination fee deposit details.
iii) Registration number and password conveyed to him by RailTel‟s earlier e-mail under Step-I of on-line
registration.
b) Instructions regarding scanning of PHOTGRAPH and SIGNATURE: Scanned (digital) image of his/her photograph
and signature and that of scribe should be as per the specifications given below:
i) Photograph Image:
 Photograph must be a recent passport style colour picture.
 Make sure that the picture is in colour, taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background.
 Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face.
 If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the shade, so that you are
not squinting and there are no harsh shadows.
 If you have to use flash, ensure there‟s no “red-eye”.
 If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen.
 Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover your face.
 Dimensions 200X230 pixels (preferred).

 Size of file should be between 20kb-50kb.
 Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50kb. If the size of the file is more than 50kb, then
adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, number of colours etc., during the process of
scanning.
ii) Signature image:
 The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black ink pen.
 The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.
 The signature will be used to put on admit card and wherever necessary.
 If the Applicant‟s signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination does not match the signature
on the admit card, the applicant will be disqualified.
 Please scan the signature area only and not the entire page.
 Dimensions 140X60 pixels (preferred).
 Size of file should be between 10kb – 20kb.
 Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20kb.
iii) Scanning the photograph & signature :
 Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch).
 Set Color to True Color
 File Size as specified above.
 Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above).
 The image file should be JPG or JPEG format. An example file name is :Image01. Jpg or image01.jpeg.Image dimension can be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon.
 Candidates using MS Window/MS Office can easily obtain photo and signature in .jpeg format not exceeding 50kb &20kb respectively by using MS Paint or MS Office Picture Manager. Scanned photograph and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using „Save As‟ option in the File menu and size can be reduced below 50 kb (photograph) & 20 kb (signature) by using crop and then resize option (Please see point (i) & (ii) above for the pixel size) in the „Image‟ menu.
 Similar options are available in other photo editor also.
 If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message will be displayed.
c) The candidate should now login to upload his/her photograph and signature and that of scribe (in case of physically challenged candidates) as per the instructions given in the following paragraphs: Direction regarding uploading the photograph and signature:

 While filling in the online application form, the candidate will be provided with a link to upload his photograph and signature.
 There will be two separate links for uploading photograph and signature
 Click on the respective link to Upload Photograph/Signature
 Browse and select the location where the scanned photograph/signature file has been saved.
 Select the file by clicking on it
 Click the „Open/Upload‟ button. With this command the photograph/signature will get uploaded.
 Similarly, the candidate will upload the photograph and signature of his scribe for which separate links will be provided.
d) The applicants are also advised to verify the „transaction number‟ of the challan appearing on the screen at the time of Step-II of the on-line registration to ensure that the same matches with the transaction number mentioned on the copy of the challan given to them by the bank where they have deposited the examination fee. Candidates are advised to inform the RailTel in case any discrepancy is noticed by them.
e) After the registration is confirmed by the system after completion of Step-II, a system-generated e-mail will be sent to candidate‟s registered e-mail id. The mail will contain a copy of information filled by the candidate. The candidate should keep a copy of this information sheet after signing the same for his future guidance. This should NOT be sent to RailTel.
f) Admit card for written test, containing the details of the centre/venue for the examination etc., will be sent to the candidates at their registered e-mail ID. The candidates are required to take a print-out of their admit cards. The candidates can also download their admit cards from the RailTel website using their registration number and the password. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall without valid admit card.
g) The Candidates are advised also to bring with them RailTel‟s copy of fee deposit challan to the examination hall on the date of written examination. The challan should be handed over to the examination room invigilator during the written examination without which the candidates will not be allowed to write the examination.
h) Candidates are advised in their own interest to register on-line much before the closing date as per schedule mentioned in para 1 of this vacancy notice and not to wait till the last date for depositing the fees to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability/failure to log on the RailTel‟s website on account of heavy load on internet/website jam/disconnection.
i) The RailTel does not assume any responsibility for the candidate not being able to submit their applications within the last date on account of the aforesaid reasons or for any other reason beyond the control of the RailTel.
j) Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. Application shall not be accepted through any other mode.
k) Candidates serving in Govt/Quasi Govt. offices/ Public Sector Undertakings are required to submit “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of interview, failing which they shall not been allowed to appear in interviews and their candidatures shall be treated as cancelled.
l) The Admit cards issued to the candidates are Provisional. However, in case any ineligible candidate had been issued admit card and had appeared in the written examination or even called for the interview or allowed to join the RailTel, his/her candidature will automatically be treated as cancelled at any stage of this recruitment/ service in RailTel ongrounds of his ineligibility. Therefore, before submitting the application, the candidate must ensure that he/she fulfills all the eligibility criteria as laid down in this advertisement. His/her candidature will be purely provisional subject to
eligibility and other verifications before or after his/her appointment in RailTel.
m) The decision of the RailTel about the mode of selection to the post and eligibility conditions shall be final and binding. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
12 Identity verification: The candidates called for interview shall be advised to produce certain documents for verification in original and also to submit the attested photocopies thereof before the interview. Such documents shall be listed in the interview call letter. If the identity of the candidate is  in doubt or he is not able to produce the requisite documents or there is mismatch of information in the documents, he will not be allowed to appear in the interview and his candidature will be treated as cancelled.
13. Background check: In case of selection on the above-said post, such selection shall be provisional subject to verification of character and antecedents of the candidate and verification of caste certificate and other documents submitted by the candidate and subject to his meeting the requisite medical standards for the post and other requirements applicable for appointments under the Central Govt. /PSUs.
14. Place of Posting :- Anywhere in India as per the requirement of the Corporation. The executives are required to serve in allotted region for an initial period of 10 years. However, the RailTel may at any time transfer the executives in administrative /business interest.
15. SC/ST certificate: Reservation of posts for SC/ST will be as per Government directives. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should submit an attested copy of Caste/Tribe certificate issued by the competent authority at the time of interview (Annexure-2).
16. OBC Certificate: The candidates applying against vacancies reserved for OBCs should note that they have to produce a valid caste certificate at the time of interview in support of their belonging to OBC community by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format for this purpose so as to prove that they do not belong to „Creamy Layer‟ of the OBCs. Further, the caste to which the candidate belongs should be the one included in the Central list of OBC issued by the Government of India since RailTel Corporation is a Central PSU (Annexure-3). A declaration shall also be submitted by the candidate before his pre-appointment medical examination that he does not belongs to the creamy Layer of OBC
(Annexure-4)
17. Travelling expenses: No traveling expenses will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the written test. The SC/ST/Physically challenged candidates who are not already in service of central/state Govt. or PSU, local Govt. institutions or panchayat, called for the interview shall be reimbursed 2nd class to and fro Rail/ bus fare by the shortest route on production of original tickets, for distances exceeding 30 Kms from the Rly station / Bus stand nearest to their normal place of residence to the place of interview.
18. The selected candidate will have to submit the attested copy of his personal passport within a period of three months from the date of joining RailTel‟s service.
19. Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate.
20. The process of examination/ recruitment does not involve any correspondence by the RailTel with candidate at any stage regarding deficiency in application / documents / payment of examination fee etc. It shall be responsibility of the candidate to satisfy himself to furnish correct, complete and desired information/ documents etc. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates found ineligible and not called for written test/interview or for non-selection.
21. Conditions /eligibility criteria for use of scribe for physically challenged candidates:
a) Visually Handicapped candidates/those candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can avail the assistance of SCRIBE for writing answers on their behalf.

b) For engaging the SCRIBE, the candidate will have to fill up information about the SCRIBE while registering himself.
c) The engagement of the SCRIBE will be on the following conditions:

i) The candidate will have to arrange his own SCRIBE at his own cost during the examination. Separate Admit Card will be issued to the SCRIBE accompanying the candidate. The admit card will contain the particulars, photo and
signature of the SCRIBE.
ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be at least one grade below the qualification prescribed for the post for which candidate has applied.
iii) The SCRIBE should be from any academic discipline different from that of the candidate. He should not have secured more than 60% in the qualification mentioned in sub-para (ii) above.
iv) The candidate as well as the SCRIBE will have to give an undertaking at the time of written test declaring that the SCRIBE fulfills all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a SCRIBE mentioned in this paragraph.
d) In case it transpires at a later date that the SCRIBE did not fulfill the laid down conditions /eligibility criteria or there has been suppression of material facts, the candidature of the applicant stands cancelled irrespective of the result of the examination.
e) The candidate shall be responsible for any misconduct on the part of the SCRIBE brought by him.
f) All one-eyed candidates and candidates whose visual degree of disability is less than 40% shall not be considered as Visually handicapped persons and the provisions for engaging SCRIBE will not be applicable to him.
g) Candidates who use SCRIBE will be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination.
22. Female Candidates: Female candidates are also eligible. However, it should be noted that some categories of posts involve duties which are arduous in nature and call for working in shifts at odd hours as well as away from headquarters.

23. ACTION AGAINST MISCONDUCT:
i) Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any documents/information that are false,
tampered, fabricated or should not suppress any material information while filling up the “on-line” application.
ii) At any stage of recruitment or later, if a candidate is or has been found guilty of any misconduct such as:
a) Using unfair means during the examination; or
b) Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person; or
c) Misbehaving in the examination hall or taking away question booklet/answer sheets from the examination hall; or
d) Resorting to any irregular means in connection with his/her candidature during selection process; or
e) Using undue influence for his/her candidature by any means; or
f) Submitting of false certificates/ documents /information or suppressing any information at any stage; or
g) Giving wrong information regarding his category (SC/ST etc.) while appearing in the examination or thereafter; or
h) Writing irrelevant matter including obscene language or pornographic matter in the script(s); or
i) Being in possession of calculator, mobile phone, pager, bluetooth, headphone, earplug, laptop, ipad and other
computing /communication devices;
he, in addition to rendering himself/herself liable to legal/criminal prosecution, will also become liable to be :

a) Disqualified from the examination and /or
b) Debarred either permanently or for a specified period from any examination/recruitment and /or
c) Discharged/removed/dismissed from service, if the act of misconduct comes to notice after his/her appointment to
the service of RailTel.
24. 
Calculator, mobile phone, pager, bluetooth, headphone, earplug, laptop, ipad and other computing /communication
devices are not permitted inside the examination centre. Candidates shall be responsible for safe-keeping of such devices
because arrangement for keeping these devices safe cannot be assured by RailTel Corporation.
25. 
 Information on website only: Any further information / corrigendum/ details regarding applications or applicants /
any other information regarding schedule of examinations or interviews/ call letters for interview/ notices / results /panels
shall be posted only on the official website of RailTel Corporation of India Limited. No publication in any media will be
made. Thus, the candidates are advised to keep updating themselves by checking the official website of RailTel very
frequently.
26. Any application seeking information under RTI Act, 2005 concerning OMR sheets shall be entertained only upto
a period of one month from the date of publication of final results of this recruitment. Thereafter, no such information can
be provided.
27. The legal jurisdiction will be Delhi in case of any cause.

SELECTION METHODOLOGY:
Candidates fulfilling all of the above criteria for respective positions will be called for appearing for Written Test. Written test will be objective type comprising of two parts, I. General Aptitude consisting of Intellectual Potential test, testing Logical Reasoning & Data interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude test & test of English Language, II. Technical / Professional Knowledge comprising of questions related to Qualifying degree / Educational background required for the position applied for. Candidates qualifying in the Written Test will be called for the Personal Interview, in order of the category-wise and discipline-wise merit list in the Written Test in a predetermined ratio.
All candidates shortlisted in Personal Interview and also obtaining minimum qualifying marks in the combined scores of written test & personal interview will be required to undergo pre-employment medical examination as per the corporation’s policy. Reference for a medical examination does not mean final selection, which may please be noted. Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks separately in both Written Test and Personal Interview and also minimum qualifying marks w.r.t. combined scores of Written Test & Personal Interview to be further considered for selection process. TRAINING, EMOLUMENTS AND PLACEMENTS:
For Position No.1.A, & 1.B, 2A & 2 B, 3A & 3B. : Selected candidates will initially undergo training for six months. During the training period, Officer Trainees will be entitled for a consolidated Stipend @ R33,000/- per month. Upon successful completion of training, they will be absorbed at the entry level in
the Management Cadre in “A” grade in the Salary Scale of R 24,900 - 50,500, Subject to fulfilling the required performance related/ other criterion, and will be on Probation for a further period of 6 months.
Upon absorption, besides Basic Pay, the employee is entitled to allowances at 50% of Basic Pay under Cafeteria Approach, Dearness Allowance, HRA, Contributory Provident Fund, Gratuity, and Superannuation Benefits as per Corporation’s policy in force from time to time.
Upon confirmation, the CTC would be appx. R 08.00 lakhs per annum**. In addition to this, Performance Related Pay (PRP) is also paid as per the Corporation’s policy.

For position 4.A & 4.B: These positions are in Management Cadre in “A” grade in the Salary Scale of R 24,900 – 50,500. The Selected Officer will be on Probation for 1 year from the date of Joining. PLACEMENT/ASSIGNMENTS (Applicable to all positions)
Posting/ Assignment can be in any SBUs/Division/Department of the Corporation at any place in the country/otherwise and the services thereafter will be transferable as per the requirement of the Corporation. These positions generally involve working in shift duties. Selected candidates may also be posted any of the subsidiaries/Joint Ventures or any department of Government of India.
Retention Amount (Applicable to All Positions) :
An amount of Rs. 5000/- per month will be deducted as retention amount from the total emoluments for first six months during the period of training or probation (as the case may be). The amount will be refunded to the officers only after their confirmation in salary grade ‘A’.
The retention amount will be forfeited, upon leaving the Corporation or termination of service before the confirmation.
RELAXATIONS/ CONCESSIONS:
 Reservation of posts for SC, ST, OBC-NC (including OBC sub-quota of 4.5% for minorities for fresh vacancies only, excluding backlog vacancies) as per Government Directives are applicable.
 3 % of the identified vacancies will be reserved for PWD (Persons with disabilities –with degree of disability 40% or above).
 Appointment to some of the vacancies of Officer Trainee (Engineering) & Officer Trainee-Quality Control/Operations will be offered to PWD candidates after considering the nature of duties & responsibilities of the job, location, hazard, strain & other factors, also considering that the disability is not likely to interfere with the performance of duties of the post with reasonable efficiency and without possible deterioration of his/her health. However, the final appointment would be based on candidate’s medical fitness with respect to job profile of the identified posts.
 The posts of Officer Trainee-CSR and Information System Officers are open to all categories of disabilities.
 Any request for change in Category (UR/SC/ST/OBC-NC/ PWD) once filled in the online application form, will not be considered and accordingly applicable concession/relaxation will not be extended.
 The reserved category candidates are required to submit the caste/ PWD certificate/s in prescribed format of Government of India, issued by the competent authority at the time of interview, in support of their claim.
In addition, the OBC-NC (OBC-Non Creamy layer) candidates will be required to submit a valid caste certificate in the prescribed format applicable for purpose of reservation in appointment to posts under Government of India/Central Government Public Sector Undertaking as contained in DOPT Memo No. 36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08-09-93 from a competent authority issued in the year of advertisement. Further the OBC-NC candidates will have to give a self-undertaking, at the time of Personal Interviews if called for, indicating that they belong to OBC-Non Creamy Layer
 The OBC candidates who belong to “Creamy Layer” are not entitled for concession admissible to OBC-NC candidates and such candidates will have to indicate their category as Unreserved (UR).
 If the SC/ST/OBC/PWD certificate has been issued in a language other than English/Hindi the candidates will be required to submit a self certified translated copy of the same either in English or Hindi.
 Maximum age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC & ST, 3 years for OBC-NC and 10 years for PWD : UR, 13 years for PWD : OBC-NC and 15 years for PWD : SC/ST candidates, as applicable.
 Maximum age limit relaxable by 5 years for candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989.
 Age relaxation by 5 years for Ex-servicemen & Commissioned Officers (including ECOs/ SSCOs) subject to rendering minimum 5 years military service and fulfillment of other conditions prescribed by Govt. of India.
 Relaxed standards in assessment/selection, Written Test, Personal Interview and overall (Test & Personal Interview) will be applicable for SC, ST & OBC-NC candidates.
 Reimbursement of 2nd class rail fare by the shortest route to examination centre is admissible for outstation SC, ST & PWD candidates appearing for written test, provided the distance travelled is not less than 30 kms. (Candidates opting for examination centre other than the centre nearest from mailing address will not be reimbursed travel fare). The candidates will be required to fill in the Travel Allowance (TA) Form as detailed on HPCL website and submit it alongwith Travel Proof of travel undertaken and Caste / PWD certificate (as applicable). This reimbursement is not applicable to candidates who are already in Central/State Government Services/PSUs.
PAYMENT OF APPLICATION & PROCESSING FEE:
General and OBC candidates are required to pay a Non-Refundable Amount of r 535/-(Application fee of r 400/-, Processing fee of r 100/- and banking charges of r 35/-) and SC, ST & PWD candidates are required to pay a Non-Refundable Amount of r 135/-( Processing fee of r 100/- plus banking charges of r 35/-) by selecting any one of the payment option (as detailed below) in the online application:
A. Payment through challan at State Bank of India (SBI):
Candidates are requested to make payment through challan at any SBI branch after 2 working days from the date of submission of online application form.
Under this option candidates are required to take a print of ‘3 part challan’ (1.Candidate copy, 2.HPCL copy, 3.SBI copy). Non-Refundable Amount of r535/- (Application fee of r 400/-, Processing fee r 100/- and banking charges of r 35/-) for General & OBC-NC candidates and r 135/-(Processing fee of r 100/- plus banking charges of r 35/-) for SC, ST & PWD candidates, is to be deposited through pre-printed challan in HPCL Powerjyoti A/C at any branch of SBI across country.
SBI official will be able view all your details (non-editable) in their system, after entering your unique application / reference no alongwith date of birth towards crediting the amount against your application. Please ensure that you get the correct Journal no. entered on candidate copy and HPCL copy of the Challan, against the payment made.
Candidates are required to collect the ‘Candidate’s copy’ and ‘HPCL copy’ of 3 part challan from bank and preserve the same for future reference.
Once the payment is received by HPCL against your application no. your payment status will change to “Payment Received” within 2-3 working days. Please ensure that your payment status is changed to “payment received” within 2-3 working days from the date of payment of application & processing fee, as the applications with other payment status will not be accepted. In case, the payment status does not change to “Payment Received” within 2-3 working days from making the payment, upload the Challan details alongwith scan copy of Your Challan against your online application on HPCL website.
B. Online Payment through Debit / Credit card:
Under this option candidates can pay applicable application & processing fee online by using Debit / Credit card. The payment status will automatically change to “Payment Received”, immediately on successful transaction. In case the payment status does not change immediately, candidates are required to re-try payment through Debit/ Credit card or switch to payment through challan at SBI.
All the candidates must ensure that the payment status is “Payment Received” as the transaction will be considered “incomplete” in case of any other payment status. Once the payment is done, Candidates are required to take print of acknowledgment of payment and preserve the same for future reference
No other mode of payment than those mentioned above will be accepted.
HOW TO APPLY:

Online Application System will be open from 1000 hrs on 29th May, 2012 to 1700 hrs on 20th June, 2012.

 All the qualifications should be full time regular course/s from AICTE approved / UGC recognized University/Deemed University. The courses offered by Autonomous Institutions should be equivalent to the relevant courses approved / recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/UGC/AICTE.
 Wherever CGPA/OGPA or letter grade in a qualifying degree is awarded, equivalent percentage of marks should be indicated in the application form as per norms adopted by University/Institute. Please also obtain a certificate to this effect from University / Institute which shall be required at the time of interview.
 Number of vacancies may increase/decrease at the discretion of the Corporation.
